So far mentioned in despatches by the brave British media...  kindly add any further speculative or plain made-up nonsense.

Manchester City have expressed an interest in Barcelona's 18-year-old forward Giovani dos Santos, according to the player's father Zizinho.

Now this would be exciting but I can't see Barcelona selling him at any price. Ditto Bojan, who we should also pick up while we're there. They'd cost an absolute fortune but the world would be ours with these two. Both are extremely young but will be amongst the best in the world very soon.

Lukas Podolski linked (TribalFootball)

Lukas Podolski has declared he wants out of Bayern bavarian capital.
The Germany international told Bild: "I am fed up being on the bench. We must consider whether this situation still makes sense for both parties."

Manchester City failed to land Podolski on-loan in January and are expected to try again during the summer market.

Reyes linked (Clubcall)
« Reply #4 on: 29 March 2008, 10:18:35 AM »

Newcastle and Man City have been linked with ex-Arsenal star Jose Antonio Reyes who is currently with Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid.
The winger is reportedly available for £5m after failing to convince at Atletico since his summer switch from city rivals Real Madrid where he spent last season on loan from the Gunners.

A player who rushed back to Spain from The Arse as soon as he could?

Reyes left Arsenal because he was homesick and London was too cold.

It can get quite cold in Manchester, and it rains a bit. I hope he knows.

"Italian newspaper Tuttosport has claimed that Manchester City are mulling over bids for AS Roma’s Mancini and Inter Milan’s Dejan Stankovic."

And today:

Steaua Bucharest attacker Nicolae Dica is interesting Manchester City.

Romanian sources say City boss Sven Goran Eriksson rates the Romania international highly and is planning a summer bid for the striker. "

Dica would be a superb signing and could even be quite cheap. He is more of a withdrawn striker than an out-and-out centre-forward but does get plenty of goals. For those who don't know him, bear in mind he came third in last season's Chump's League player-of-the-year awards behind Kaka and the show pony. Not bad when you consider that Steaua failed to get beyond the group stages.

Ronaldinho

I can exclusively reveal that this was a misprint, we've in fact been looking at a bloke called Ronald Rinho.

Sorry Paul, but your information is also wrong. It is actually a case of Mr Thaksin using his considerable clout in the Far East to possibly bring in Vietnam's most highly rated youngster: Ro Nal Din Ho. Apparently, the kid is 2 and dribbles a lot.

You heard it here first.

Hey I only said it was a misprint, I was guessing at Ronald Rhino, yours sounds much more plausible.

El Hadji-Diouf from Bolton for GBP 5 million - in today's Mail and also mentioned in passing in the Telegraph.   A player I've always regarded as pretty loathsome, though I think he could, in purely footballing terms, be a decent buy.

5 Million is far too much for him, and he won't improve us sufficiently.

He'd be an "improvement" on Vaz (he'd probably get us 10-ish goals from the right) but I agree with Petrusha above he is a loathsome individual and his skill wouldn't come anywhere close to cancelling out just what a complete and utter git he is...so no fanks Sven!!!

As I wrote most eloquently on another site and am too frickin lazy to retype here about Diouf:

"Fooking slack-jawed, knuckle-dragging, spittle-covered bag o' shite.

Not a bad player mind...

But not good enough for where we aspire to be. "

There.
