.... this was my weekend. A bit of fund-raising for the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
http://www.justgiving.com/banzai-weekendThe route, A to B obviously, Alston, Cumbria (my work-place) To Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria (normally a 35 mile commute home) Via The New Forest, Lands end and John O Groats.

3 sheets like this got me all the way round. Don't like or trust sat nav.

Now that's Scotch mist

The screen was so soaked in midge entrails by now that it reached saturation point. Any fresh victims just slid off the sides onto my arms or up onto my visor.

From Blackpool to Oxford I passed countless cars with orange scarves and flags. Being a CUFC sympathiser I should really have been singing for them to stick their Blackpool Tower up their arse- sideways, but I couldn't but give them a supportive thumbs up. Really pleased that they've got a shot at it.
Total Mileage for the weekend= 1878 miles in approx 51 1/2 hours. Including only 9 hours sleep, but plenty of rest.
Saturday's mileage from New Forest-Lands End-John o Groats= 1058 in almost exactly 21 hours including about 2 hours of rest time.
Carbon footprint.= barely conscionable :-(
A marvellous experience.
Sleep, take me. :-)
