Not sure he's what we need but we seem to be buying whoever is available and hoping we hit on the right formula.

Cracking player a real box to box midfield destroyer and a monster to boot...that is the midfield to dominate sorted for a touch more flair, Germanys Ozil will do.

Dunno, I get the impression that we've bought players we've been specifically targeting for a while rather than just buying off the shelf.

As for whether Silva, Kolo's ickle bruv and Boateng are what we need ... Barry has disappointed (well, he's disappointed me, mostly), Nige is good at what he does but is limited, Stevie Ireland never got going last season, Vieira is very old (or at least plays like he is) - I don't think our central midfield was as good last season as it might have been. It'd be nice if we could create something other than crosses for the big lad up front that we don't have.

I think Bert has tried to address that. He has bought a proper creative mid in Silva who can play down the middle behind the striker(s) or on the wing, and in Yaya a quality combative defensive/box-to-box mid who's not afraid to get up front and score too. Not seen either of them play that much myself, but that's what those who have seen them seem to be saying.

And he's also bought a defender who's versatile - don't know yet until we see who he picks to play where whether he's unhappy with central defence or right back, but Boateng can do either. If you asked me I'd say right back is the weakness, but I must confess that Bert hasn't asked me. Still, despite that oversight, it looks like there's a plan of sorts going on there. Need a left back now.
