I know I'll be eating my words
« on: 23 August 2010, 07:42:04 PM »

... after we've beaten Liverpool in a little while but exactly how many defensively minded players do we need on the pitch when playing at home? We've got all this attacking talent we've shelled mucho sponds on, the least we can do is unleash it and play as a team that wants to go out and win rather than one that sets up its stall not to lose.

Not moaning or nowt, just don't see the logic which is probably why I'm sat here fixing computers in a school in Alaska for a living :)

Come on CITY!!!!

Tell you what Steh, that was the most effective City performance I can remember in decades, players who can pass, adapt, interchange position, move, yes move, so much. The off the ball movement in the first half was something else.

Don't let our muppet media convince you that Liverpool are/were shit tonight, they were simply outplayed, and whats more we barely looked like we got out of second gear.

Pinch yourself, this team could be real !!

1) Liverpool WERE sh*t
2) We can only play what's in front of us and we outplayed them
3) The way we are set up we'l never look like we've got out of second gear. But there's more going on than meets the eye.
I also want a more attacking formation, but you can't argue with the results so far.

One of those I'm glad be wrong moments mate ;D

We were controlled last night, we had the dippers where we wanted them for 85 of the 90 mins. A really good team performance by our mercenaries, they harried, chased and covered for each other in every part of the field. The dippers are an ordinary side, not shit, and we despatched them as such. They were no better than they were last term we on the otherhand have pushed on...this squad IS the real deal, so get saving up those pennies mate!

That was the other f**king drivers as well you know !

Have to say I was dreading the game because despite all the stars, you still don't know which City will turn up, we never will, the difference is, in days gone by that would be the exception, and typical City would normally turn up, but now that might typical City, and hopefully the exception will be the crap one, that's a huge change.

Ged Liverpool were not aloowed to play, they weren't shit, just made to look it.

To be honest, what I really liked was that when Liverpool had the ball, we sent squads of players to harry them every time; a la Barcelona and more often than not, won the ball back. When they had the ball, our so-called 3 "defensive midfielders" defended; when we got the ball back - as we usually did - then Barry and Yaya went forward to great effect. And also, AJ and Milner defended from the front but boy were they ever effective going forward.

And yes; I groaned also when I saw the lineup. How wrong I was.

But one swallow etc....need to beat Sun'lun on Sunday after hopefully taking care of Timmy's Sore Ass on Thursday.

Another "job done" efficiently tonight, and good to see that the second string, play much the same pass and move football as the first string.

I don't think I've ever seen a City team dominate anyone as much as we did tonight, 20, 30, even 40 passes before losing the ball. Well not since Monday night anyway.

4 games, 4 clean sheets, 3 wins.

Hoping for an "interesting" draw later, I see we are now (whisper this) 6-1 "favourites" to win it.  :o
